SENIOR CENTER COOK
PARKS AND RECREATION
Pay Grade: PT3
GENERAL PURPOSE
Under the direct and supervision of the Senior Center Food Safety Manager, a Cook will be responsible for the preparation, service, and cleanup of senior center meals.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must have sufficient education and experience to demonstrate the ability to complete tasks as listed below. Must follow all procedures set forth by Mountainland Association of Governments to maintain good standing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Prepares regularly scheduled meals. On occasion, banquet meals for special events.
Food preparation to include mixing, baking, and cooking using the stove, oven, large mixers and other various kitchen equipment.
Serves meals to seniors.
Cleaning and sanitation of equipment, counters and floors.
Deep cleaning of kitchen equipment during the month of July.
Must be able to meet attendance and punctuality requirements for this position.
Must abide by all city policies and procedures.
Must work well with others and be a team player.
Applicants may be required to submit to a criminal background check and fingerprint report.
Other related duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Food handling experience preferred. Must have a flexible schedule and be willing to work extra during special events. Should be able to work 10-15 hours per week. Must be able to lift 50lbs. Team oriented, good communication skills, and the ability to work well with other employees. This position requires a loving, compassionate person who is sensitive to the needs of senior citizens. Must obtain a food handlers permit.
