GENERAL PURPOSE

Under the general direction of the Program Supervisors, all Site Supervisors oversee various aspects that pertain to the program or sporting activity that they are supervising.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Site Supervisors are required to set up & take down equipment on fields or in facilities and see that programs are played in a fair and equitable manner. Site Supervisors are also required to enforce the Player, Coach's, and Spectator Code of Conducts. As well as all other city policies/ordinances. They also monitor that players and teams are legal to participate in the various leagues, and are, at times required to eject players and spectators from programs and facilities.

Site Supervisors see that officials and/or scorekeepers are in place and adhere to and enforce special rules that have been created by the recreation department. Special rules usually regulate sportsmanship, behavior and language. Supervisors, along with officials, are responsible for keeping all activities under control and safe for participants and spectators.

Supervisors arrive 30 minutes early to scheduled events to ensure the facility or fields are ready and safe to use. Site Supervisors are required to roam around the facility or park they are supervising; maintain the cleanliness of the area and other duties as assigned to the program. (i.e. picking up garbage, stocking and cleaning bathrooms with supplies and securing the facility at the conclusion of the program). Depending on the season, some weekend work will be required. Shifts could range from early morning to late evening.

Must be able to meet attendance and punctuality requirements for this position. Must abide by all city policies and procedures. Must work well with others and be a team player. Applicants may be required to submit a criminal background check and fingerprint report.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Basic understanding of the sports being supervised. Ability to positively communicate with the public in difficult situations.
  2. Special Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old.
