Salary:  $14.00 with possible retention bonus

Status:  Part Time

Hours:    Shifts Monday Saturday (25-30 hours per week).  All shifts flexible but mostly afternoon and evening shifts.

GENERAL PURPOSE

This position performs three main functions:  Customer Service Representative (CSR), Computer Technician (Comp Tech) and Network Technician (Net Tech).  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and demonstrate the requisite qualifications and competencies described below.  Estimated hours: CSR: 15 hrs/week; CompTech: 7 hrs/week; NetTech: 7 hrs/week 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Serve as the initial contact for all customer service related issues for SFCN, providing both administrative and first level technical support for SFCN.
  • Provide general computer and CATV hardware and software installation, deployment, troubleshooting, etc.
  • Setup and operate routers, wireless access points, cabling, etc.
  • Administer SFCN customer accounts: service calls, email, allocated web space, IP addresses, cable modems, virus infection, etc.
  • Setup and test digital set top boxes
  • Prepare new computers for deployment, decommission old computers
  • Perform general computer and network troubleshooting
  • Setup and operate routers, wireless access points, switches, etc
  • Perform other functions related to Computer and Networking technologies
  • Must be able to meet attendance and punctuality requirements for this position.
  • Must abide by all city policies and procedures.
  • Must work well with others and be a team player.
  • Applicants will be required to submit to a criminal background check and drug test.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS.

  1. Education/Experience: High School Diploma. Currently enrolled in a computer based post high school education program.
  2. Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Good customer relations skills required. The ability to learn new computer systems. Ability to clearly communicate in English; ability to communicate in Spanish is helpful.
  3. Technical knowledge of personal computers, routers and associated applications. Must be able to problem-solve. Ability to follow direction. Self-motivated and capable of working alone and staying on task
