Under general supervision of the Gun Club Manager, performs general duties related to the operation and maintenance of the gun club. This position will require work on Saturday, Sunday and some evenings, 10-15 hrs. per week.


  • Using chronograph or radar gun, adjusts targets to meet ATA requirements.
  • Collects and deposits monies.
  • Stocks shells, targets, reloading components, trophies, and items for the pro shop. Maintains accurate inventory and stock of targets and shells.
  • Processes pre-squading forms, organizing squads according to skill level and special needs.
  • Supervises part-time employees for weekly operations and trap tournaments.
  • Prepares and submits ATA reports including statistical information and fees for each event. May prepares statistical information on winners of each event.
  • Uses computers to enter and post scores, to squad those who have registered to shoot, to keep score sheets, make trap assignments.
  • Organizes and oversees hauling and loading of targets to and from houses. Ensures that the gun club facilities and grounds are kept clean and safe.
  • Troubleshoots and solves problems that arise pertaining to parking, power, shooters, trap help, and computers.
  • Must be able to meet attendance and punctuality requirements for this position. Must abide by all city policies and procedures. Must work well with others and be a team player.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Applicants may be required to submit to a criminal background check and fingerprint report.


  • Education and Experience: High school graduation or equivalent.
  • Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to represent the city in a professional manner. Ability to get along with others and deal with difficult customers. Ability to use a computer and Excel spreadsheets. Must be willing to learn ATA rules and regulations. Must be able to follow instructions and work without supervision.
  • Special Requirements: Valid Utah Driver License


Surroundings involve contact with outdoors and indoors, dust, dirt, heat, cold, arid/dry, humidity, wetness, noise, fumes and vibrations. Requires working with and around other employees. Occasionally requires working alone. Occasionally dealing with toxic materials and chemicals. Physical activities include standing, kneeling, crouching, handling, balancing, turning, pushing, pulling, reaching and carrying. Requires talking, hearing, and seeing. Requires ability to lift up to 45 pounds without assistance.
